New Picnic Area

The project commenced in June 2021 following the decision of the Memorial Hall committee to tidy and make safe the area next to the play equipment to provide a pleasant area for village residents and visitors.

The project was to include a second picnic table that was fully accessible and landscape the area with many bulbs, new shrubs and flowering trees. It was also recognised that the area was very close to the car park and Post Office Lane and should be enclosed to make it safe for all users.

We were very pleased when awarded a grant of £1,250 from the Suffolk Coast and Heaths ANOB Sustainable Development Fund

This would cover the cost of the table and the landscaping that will enhance and conserve this important village community space.

The metal fencing enclosing the area was funded by the halls play fund, 100 club, jumble sales and donations. It was chosen to match the existing fence that surrounds the play area.  Cost £2,500

The project was completed in January 2022 when three crab trees and new shrubs were planted.  We wait for the spring for its full impact
